HELLO! :)

Weinye Chen hails from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was born with the love of drawing. She drew on everything she could get her hands on, from the walls at home to her text books in school (sorry, mom!).

She started out in graphic design. After several years in the industry, she decided to return to her initial passion in illustration.

She graduated from the Academy of Arts University, San Francisco in 2015 with a BFA in Illustration, focusing on comic art, graphic novel and childrens’ books.

She is the proud creator behind the slice-of-life webcomic series, “It’s Weinye”, which has now garnered over 230, 000+ followers across various social media platforms.

Besides drawing, Weinye enjoys collecting children’s picture books, watching animated movies, and has successfully finished every bag of potato chips she has ever lay her hands on!

She currently resides in Malaysia, as a full-time illustrator.
